Debuting with the Mets in 1984 as a 19 year-old Dwight Doc Gooden quickly established himself as one of the most dominant young pitchers of his generation. That season he was named Rookie of the Year and finished second in the Cy Young Award voting posting a 17-9 record and a 2.60 ERA. He followed that up in 1985 with one of the most dominant seasons of all time going 24-4 with a 1.53 ERA earning him the Cy Young Award. After 11 seasons with the Mets Gooden slipped into pinstripes for the 1996 season helping the cross-town rivals capture the World Series and even throwing a no-hitter on May 14 1996. After a few years bouncing around baseball he returned to the Yanks in 2000 in time to help them beat the Mets in the World Series.brbrDoc Gooden has hand signed this 8x10 photograph commemorating his No-Hitter.
