Wilson Betemit a switch-hitting infielder with power began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Braves. After stopping in Los Angeles to play with the Dodgers Betemit made his way to the Bronx to put on the pinstripes. In his first at bat of his Yankees career Betemit homered while filling in for Derek Jeter at shortstop. He played a key role off the bench for the Yankees during the final season at the original Yankee Stadium in 2008. Betemit is currently playing within the Kansas City Royals system. brbrIn Betemits first at-bat on August 2 2007 at Yankee Stadium he crushed a three-run home run and was honored with a curtain call.
